Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Layoffs are a regular occurrence at U.S. Bank

U.S. Bank has regular layoffs that have been going on consistently for years now. They never make the news, though, since they know to make them small enough to avoid both WARN and bad publicity. The employees know, though. It's become so bad that we are always fearing for our jobs. It's affecting both morale and productivity, and there's nothing we can do. Some of our best people are leaving because of this, and frankly, as soon as I get an opportunity, I'll be gone too. To think that I actually liked working here at one time.

I sincerely hope the bank customers will take note of how horrible this company is to their employees and take their businesses elsewhere. There are other and better banking options.

Never underestimate their abilities to be very good at it. The culture is toxic.

USB places high priority on issues like ESG and DEI. Against the background of the recent layoff notices post-MUFG acquisition, human capital falls victim to the trendier ESG/DEI counterparts. All the while the executives are still getting their millions. SMH.

The bank management strives for making all employees miserable. Such an odd corporate culture.

It used to mean something to the employees, to work for U.S. Bank. Until the CEO and its team of business line heads began focusing on corporate virtue signaling to mask the fact that they really only care about the numbers and not the employees, who are in constant fear of layoffs. They keep employees occupied with social justice and equity stuff online and really just buying time before they cut heads again. Very hypocritical and have lost what made it once a great and ethical institution.

I am still at the Bank, full time and can confirm to much of the comments here in the thread. It's a Bank and all they care about is saving $, hiring allies and laying off (or making people hate their job) someone they don't like. In my past 6 years working here, I have become someone who I despised my entire career. I feel stuck and looking back, wasted my time here. I am out of here as soon as I can. By the way, I was rockstar for the first half of my career here and now all of a sudden, I mean nothing to them. Corporate baby :-)

If this were a Union job this would have led to a strike and been all over the media.

This is all true. My wife has been with the company for 8 years now. She began as teller and moved all the way through the ranks and is currently a branch assistant manager. The call today was to norify them that they branch assistants, teller coordinators will be laid off. They can apply for jobs that are not even going to be full time. The tellers will be part time only, no full-time. The last day will be December 20,2019.
To the schmoe saying how great this company is get off your knees and wipe your chin.

Everyone is “p-ss-d off” when they get laid off. U.S. Bank is a great place to work and employees and customers alike enjoy receiving solutions and working for the bank. Of course, there will be internal problems, there are in all businesses. The new CEO has a very good vision and is putting the bank at the top of its game. I luckily was not laid off and to hear all the negativity is flat out not true.

When I started at US Bank I thought it was a great company to work for. But once I learned about all the internal fraud that was going on it put me on edge. Four years later after climbing the coroprate ladder. They laid everyone off with out warning. I believe they new what was going a year prior. Now I feel like I wanted my time at that company all the stress I took to further my career was all for nothing. I will never ever get anything from this bank. I hope it shuts down. The customers are dissatisfied the employees are dissatisfied and I felt like all this could've been prevented. If I could turn back time I would've never took that job

My son works at USBank here in Irvine CA and his entire office is fearful of their department being closed down and moved to the Denver CO area under a consolidation plan to save $$.

To the person who said this is false, your information is inaccurate. What the first person put about US Bank leaving the Wholesale Mortgage business was followed immediately after with a call saying we are all laid off and I had over 10 years in the company.

The new CEO is a numbers guy and pretty much heartless when it comes to cutting jobs.

They recently cut the entire Mortgage Investment Banking team which is about 250 people. They jumped on a conference call and then next thing they find out they are done and had to leave within 1 hour. Not good morale at all. Most had 10-30+ of service.
