Waiting by the phone. Looks like Nov 10 the shoe will fall for many in BioOnc
Too many sales people and too many managers.

I second the f-you to the ping pong comment. As someone who worked 6 days a week on graves and days to cover people’s shifts, how dare you! You’re a piece of crap just like the sad pathetic excuse of management. I hope your a-- gets let go bc you’re nothing but a POS
Sorry to hear of this.. I went through this across the 505 with the Novartis (Chiron) closure a few years ago. Looking back it was best thing that could have happened as I now work in public utilities with better pay, benefits and Calpers retirement. Pharmaceutical mfg is going the way of semiconductor mfg.. Time to let it go and move on..
Sorry to hear about everyone's loss, I left after the Evan Morris story broke and after reviewing all the contracts to lobbyist groups and heavy DNC donations, some very questionable at that, and I had to see for myself how back alley they had become. Don't blame Roche directly, Genentech has been digging this hole for sometime and it's deep. I hope you all land back in your feet soon and I truly believe the people are the best thing they had, just be the best somewhere else now.
If they are unhappy, they have a choice. Go and be happy at another biotech company (for a short time, until THEY decide to make cuts) or they can s--- it up; be happy they weren't let go! Just how the times are nowadays. Not fair but no point in trying to change things to 25 years ago...cuz it ain't gonna happen!
F you, to the "ping pong" comment! Did 10-15% if the people deserve to be let go? Hell no! Were there quite a few bad apples? Sure. I knew people who were such hard workers that were let go. Working tons of OT. Recognized by peers. But just because, what, some higher up didn't like them? That's total bull crap. Now too many people were let go and people have to work in both plants due to Roche's ruthlessness. How about that? People are miserable on sight and off.
Y'all are whiny cry babies! Because you sat on your butts and play ping pong for 8 hours a day, and now you have to work! You should have been working from the beginning. So long!
Worked there 7 years...I voluntarily left them in 2012 and went back to my previous company with a nice fat raise. Genentech (Roche) is just another corporate prison house. Their pay s---s, the PPR review process is a joke as well...and guess what, management never gets laid off and is waaaay top heavy. Micro-managed to the bone!! Staaaaay away, far away from this deluded company.
Putting the Cult in Culture. Nov 1st almost 130 people received cut-dry phone calls to announce layoffs. Not really the best thing to be woken up by a phone call from your manager saying your services are no longer needed. Not only did tenured employees get cut, hardworking individuals were laid off. Heartless, money hungry greedy jerks. Also the emails sent out in response saying the 130 let go will be missed/taken care of, BS! These layoffs were just a fantastic excuse to cut people the sad a** leadership didn't care for. Ya'll hired 200+ ppl to bring up the other mfg plant, and then you let 130 people go. Use them, abuse them, lose them.
Amgen (Kimball, Tony, Mark) and Roche have officially taken over implementing LPS and Blueprint which has led to at least 130 layoffs. The sense of pride at the company is long gone as management only looks at the bottom line and budget concerns (of a growing and profitable company). So many tenured people let go (with rumors of more coming) for no reason other than budget concerns. The cuts are so deep that people are being (temporarily?) shuffled around to support operations. Goodbye humanistic, community first, great to work for company and hello greedy, management driven, big pharma. The dream is over. What a great run!
god help us.
Welcome to ROCHE!
VSP package?
dude, thats weak! total BS! you should check out Juno up in Seattle. Just took a job there and they are relocating me from Bay area. cool place! hiring a ton. Recruiter I worked with was Nels Hanson if interested.
Crazy day- this is no longer Genentech. Roche is alive and well and cutting staff in favor of the bottom line- you guessed it- the almighty dollar. Forget that 130 people will flood the Bay Area looking for employment. The managers and directors made the decision to ruin people's lives, devasting their abilities to put a roof over their heads and care for their families. Shame on you, you money hungry management that aspires to greatness at the expense of the poor worker bee just trying to make a living! You are still working- sleep well you rotten souls.

It's happening in Vacaville today....didn't even tell you face to face...you'll get your Fed-Ex package tomorrow
Peeps here in Vacaville feel something is going to happen soon. We were thinking November 1st. Heard maybe 100 people thanks to the Blueprint and LPS.
