Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Bad Bath & Beyond forgot its core values

The downfall for Bed Bath has not been Amazon but forgetting their core values. In chasing Omni Channel they forgot the 85% of total sales in the stores. Replaced managers that cared and drove business with cheaper hours and replaced what is in the best interest of BBB with "it is the policy of Bed Bath & Beyond". Are the Regionals and DM's really loyal to Dana or are they just trying to hang on to alll that they have worked for over the years? He has taken the culture from the company and turned it into a dictatorship. The slippery slope started years ago, they just didn't want to hear it.

By the way, how much money have you, your family and friends spent at BBB? How much going forward? The future is not so bright for a company that at one time was truly amazing to work for.

I totally agree that we have forgotten about our culture. We were item and merchandise driven. We just gave a simple hello to a customer and worked all day and all night. We looked for hot items to turn in hot faxes on our Monday folders. We dollared stuff out to see if something was worth the space. We walked with the snapshot and used it to make good business decisions. We worked hard to improve sales and have a great looking store. Now it seems like store conditions in general, not in my store, don't matter. All that matters is how many Beyond stores you did today. Stop worrying about Amazon and the space that they control and always will. Let's worry about the other 95% of the business and dominate that space, like we once did.

When I go to interviews , one of the questions that is almost always brought up is what happened to your position. As you said in your comment they want quality for a budget price. Train someone to take your place!!! That's flipping funny !
