Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

MVD Syndicate (SUTSA)

Confirmed, we were dragged into a 2 hours meeting about "how to deal with them"

There are no plans of getting people fired.

Sabre do not care about second level or administrative workers joining but there was an indirect recommendation to punish first level product support agents that may join the union.

The plan is to stop their careers in first level before they get too high.

I was in that meeting and that is not what I understood...

There was no mention about anyone's career.

Also, all the pro-employee plans that the company has implemented in the past 6 months were already planned well before the union was created

Can you tell us what you consider not to be ‘malos reclamos’? I honestly do not know what they can claim that they do not already have...

Y segun tengo entendido... no tienen malos reclamos...

@ @PHQvMGa-5iiu, I have seen many different business decisions taken along these 13+ years of Sabre in UY and if I ever have to leave, I will certainly be able to shout out loud that I gave my best.

I do my best because of ME, not because of Sabre. Wake up, Sabre detractor!! Among other things, the labor market is very small... so how you act now, will dictate your future. You are NOW choosing your next step... Don’t believe me if you do not want...

I am not here to convince you... just to tell you my story.

Good luck thinking how you are doing it. Tell me later how it ends...

It's so funny hearing all this people defending Sabre. Sabre will fire you even if you are the best employee just to close "their numbers". Wake up Sabre lover, you are less than a number.

I just feel sorry for these guys who (in my opinion) want cheap exposure.

@ the ones who joined the Union: Sad news for you guys... this is NOT good exposure. And please just speak for yourselves wherever you do it... i am sure that if you do need to join a Union to raise concerns or make suggestions, you do not represent most of MVD employees...

Ergonomic needs!!?? LOL

Go to other companies and tell me later what you find.

"Ergonomic needs stated by the Uruguay law.".

As a fellow Uruguayan, just get to work man.

Worst is that sabre did this to itself by letting these guys stay untouched and letting good people and workers go, for massive layoffs without a hint of having it thoroughly thought. Now 20-30 c,,,ts will make decisions for the rest, while rest assured their already lazy asses are covered. The problem is not the Union as such, but the Uruguayan version of it...

The Union was made by people that wanted to be laid off in the first place. Underperformers, perpetual victims and people with no codes whatsoever. The sad thing is that they are still with us, claiming stuff like ergonomics and other b---s--- when they don't even want to be part of the company. They want to be fired and an easy access to power, that's the point of all this. They don't care about any consecuences.

Award winners??? Lol. I'd like to see those names. And how can you suggest people from PS not to join yet, if this is a secret union. Why is it secret? What's the point?

Top performers and award winners. That just made my day!

Curious; define top performer in Sabre?

The names I heard promoting it are far from being top performers

I can confirm the meetings existed, I can confirm that Sabre will take no action against the new formed union.

There was nothing explicit against product support agents but I there was in fact pressure in that area.

If you are a call taker and ever plan on moving to somewhere else wait a few months before joining the union or talk it out with the union beforehand.

Guess you dont know anything. The union is formed by award winners and top performers. People who think avout the customers and are an example for the rest.

@PHQvMGa-1xxs Funny how that's what everyone without skills say all around the world every time they are at risk. The market conditions are not hell if you are proficient enough.

I can confirm this is not a legit source.

The Union has no name. And is really HR that hasnt even talked to us posting here ? Fishy doesnt even fit the situation.

We understand people is scared. But you should be not... Sabre wont fly away from Uruguay. Dont let Fear cloud yoir mind.

The union fights for 3 simple things:

The way to habe a descent legal chat with Sabre without fears.

Transparency in the Layoffs.. Better know herw as Re estructuras... That we know the way theu perfom it is of the law.

Ergonomic needs stated by the Uruguay law.

In addition... If what is stated at the top of this post is true. It talks VERY BAD ABOUT SABRE. People from HR uruguay think of us as livestock... Which is sad... We are all uruguayans.

No doubt that because of that SUTSA i can confirm this is not a legit source. Or maybe some low rank HR employee. The Union has no name.

We fight for 3 thing:

No fear to talk about our needs.

Transparency in the layoffs ( re estructuras)

And ergonomic needs stated by the goverment.

If Sabre is really hugging what has been said at the top of this thread ... It really sums to the fact that we are less than live stock to them.

People is afraid.... And we understand it. Sabre is not going anywerem so chill. And continue working.

Working with MVD office employees, I would say most are useless and are the reason why the company is doing this bad. Bunch of super lazy people who have no common sense or sense of responsibility. Good riddance if they are let go!

Funny how work market conditions in MVD, outside Sabre, look like hell compared to Sabre, even with layoffs... Now we want a Union... To claim for what? I may agree on the fact that mgmt is not good overall, people skills are missing in general... Anyway... What is that you'd want to get? So many useless people under a Union's umbrella... Like with every other ill-conceived Union.

Punish? Stop their career? Deal with them? Sounds as we are talking during the 18th century here..but right..almost...forgot livestock has more rights than Sabre employees..or at least its what we are suppose to think and live by and after....i am delighted to be part of this company...
