I was away for two days, come back, and I see that we were told not to post on Internet about the situation in Humana? Instructed so, even. Seriously? This has got to be a joke, right? They are running the company into the ground and mistreating employees left and right, but their priority is not to fix that but to make sure nobody finds out. I wonder how that's going to work out for them. I know I just got energized to go on a posting spree.

Humana is thriving. Insurance is thriving. Never think that you or the members are anything but a commodity there, no matter what your degree, role or expertise is. When the business model changes, they don't retrain, they layoff and rehire.
latest i hear is that the layoff plan is for Nov 1st so the "pay out bonus in Jan for those with no raises in 2017" will get the BOOT before they get that bonus. Another SHADY thing from Humana.....
Interesting, below poster. I also read, “the new law doesn't prohibit employers from carving out paid sick leave benefits from existing time-off policies.” So they can reduce planned PTO days and replace those days with “sick days” if they choose.
This is the first job I have held where you couldn’t just take a few hrs a few times a year for a dr appt. My last company provided more PTO than I could ever really use in a year, plus it was okay to take a few hrs here and there for appts.
The new law sounds good, but depending on the employer, it could just result in existing PTO being categorized into “sick days” and “planned PTO.”
Arizona has passed a state law that employers have to give employees time off for sick time/doctor's visits. This is in addition to PTO. I believe it is at least 24 hours next year. Wonder how that is going to be handled. I was tired of having to take a day of PTO to go to doctor's appointment. No longer in Arizona. Humana has to abide by the Arizona law for Arizona employees.

I’d assume Humana doesn’t want current associates to panic and read what ex-associates or possibly RIFT associates are saying online. Workers that are laid off rarely speak highly of the company that rifted them. That’s not a “Humana” thing. That’s any associate at any company anywhere that has laid people off. That’s called human nature. For current associates, the specter of higher profits means better outcomes on 401k and of course, their future at the company. Layoffs aren’t a way to just “be mean” to people. There are consequences if financials are down and workforce isn’t reduced - like the company going belly-up and EVERYONE loses their jobs.
To the last poster love it. You went in nice nasty is what I call it.
Funny told us to go to your leader with questions. Said posting wasn’t helpful. What isn’t helpful is going to your leader & getting the same canned responses & talking points. They only push us to get your numbers at all costs. The meeting indicated they want to hear our questions, but coaches & COMs do not. They don’t want trouble either I’m sure. Top this off with the past 9 months of the fear you will lose your job if you make waves. Please excuse the built up pessimism, but what leader would you like me to speak to?
That is why this board exists.
Obviously this site touched a nerve. Maybe stakeholders are reading it lol.
To the poster about her coach saying don't come to this site-
Everything 100^% that was posted on this site after the first layoff has been TRUE and HAPPENED. So please, if you want to know what's really happening/going to happen here is the place. Coaches knew when layoffs were happening and have completed surveys on us all. HR legally isn't allowed to tell us what's on those surveys but that's how people were chosen. Don't believe me? Call HR4U.
That’s funny last poster. I bet your boss is uncomfortable. She know this is the only place where we can vent when we are at work anything negative is forbidden.
"mentioning it only serves to have people seek out where others are posting."
That is true. I only came here because my coach repeats in every weekly meeting that we should not go on The Layoff.com because it is false information. Of course, I came here to see for myself. I realized that it seems "the lady doth protest too much" and this site may just be prompting associates to ask too many uncomfortable questions.
Yes Humana is making huge profits and does not even try to place associates in other positions. Thanks for your loyalty. You want it from us but we don't get any in return
Plus they are not running the company into the ground as the OP dramatized because that sky continues to fall. Humana is still making huge profits. They are repositioning the company to continue making profits.
It was mentioned multiple times, below poster, but you are right - there was no explicit “don’t comment on social media or else,,,,”
I think the point here is, with everything going on, why is that even a worthy concern that needs addressing, when basic questions often go unanswered or ignored.
If the goal is to reduce rumors, then step up the honest, clear communication and reduce the BS.
I see you have all decided to hear what you wanted to hear rather than what was said. We were not forbidden from using social media to discuss this.
I going to comment so bite me!
I guess we better follow the rules 😤
I agree.
They want to keep information from everyone. You can't be in an abusive relationship if you know the truth. Humana is an abusive work relationship
What I do on my off time is my business. Gee, Humana really does think they can micromanage every second of my life.
That struck me as an odd priority too, amidst all that has been happening. And for those for whom the thought never even crossed their minds, mentioning it only serves to have people seek out where others are posting.
Were they just referring to this site? I understand the desire to curb misinformation, but when communication is so poor, people will start to seek info anywhere.
Most know (or should know) to be skeptical online, but we all want to know what’s next, naturally.
