Being an ex employee, I was sad while leaving, but now feel fine after reading all this. Fairly speaking, I was always worried about getting a pink slip any time. There are serious management issues and HR is a real sh--. Policies are good for books not for real gems.

Let's be honest. We don't have any big hits cross category. Now we use head counts as a means to stay afloat. Support functions for R&D. Get ready for reorganization and perhaps a pink slip. It's going to get ugly with a great deal of unfairness. This is no scare tactic but the truth. Open your eyes and see and do what is best for your family.
Some people are nervous about a layoff. I am too but I have no control. HR employees are also nervous as well. I will have to take it one step at a time and one day at a time. It's really hard to trust people these days. Understand, the layoff list has been made at least 6 to 8 months ago. I would not be surprised of a buy out just by the layoffs and retirement process.
It will get ugly before it gets better.
Layoffs are happening as we speak. Last day for some is December 31st. Support functions are going to be hit the hardest. Sad to say, it's will be both business and personal. Get ready.....
I loved this Company. Worked there for 17 years. I still miss it. Management s---s.
HR is so phony and useless.
The fish rots from the head. CP's top leadership has the company in a hold and wait mode thinking they are going to be bought so they can make millions. We have been completely stagnant for a long time, no growth, no new products, no innovation. You would be hard pressed to find anyone at CP who doesn't truly believe this.
