Is it paid in 1 lump sum? Or paycheck by paycheck?

Below poster, you receive 2 weeks of severance for every year of service. Those who have been here less than 2 years will still receive 4 weeks of severance pay.

How does Humana determine Severance?

Yes, if you get a new job during severance you still collect severance. I don't want to be a Debbie Downer, but very few of us laid off found jobs during severance.

Do you still collect severance if you get a job during the pay cycles?

What PTvJzr7-hum said. I was laid off and what they said is exactly what happened. Insurance ends on your last day of employment unless you notify hr to continue it during severance. My severance came out in 3 cycles though because I only had 1 week of pay during that pay cycle. Mine was - last 40hrs plus 1 week severance plus pto. Then it was 2 weeks severance, and a final check of 1 week severance

Eli called HR 4-different times, just to make sure they were all on the page, was told you get the same benefits, health insurance, dental, vision, until your severance runs out

When does health insurance end? At early release, last actual day or at end of severance?

In all three layoffs earlier this year, my PHC coworkers were given early release two weeks after they were notified, so they did not have to report for work after that. They continued to be paid and had regular employee benefits until the 60 day notice was up. The severance pay comes in two week cycles afterward just like a regular paycheck, but the first severance check includes your unused PTO in a lump sum.

PTO is paid in 1 lump sum and severance every 2 weeks.

Yes CHEs paid until last day. Also most states won't allow you to collect unemployment while collecting severance. So you won't be able to collect both.

I know a lot of CHEs had early relaease shortly after they were notified of cuts. Last day was supposed to be 10/30, but let go in early/mid September. Assuming they were still paid until 10/30 but not certain. Can anyone confirm this?

Humana does give everyone that is laid off the last 2 weeks off to look for work at least all of the people that I knew.

From what I understand reading other posts, if your last day of work is the 31st of December, until then your employment status remains exactly the same. You still accrue pto, contribute to 401k, etc. Then after that date you get your severance, and they pay out pto and you can apply for unemployment benefits. But you no longer accrue pto, can contribute to 401k, etc. And 401k will have to be either rolled over within so many days or will be automatically paid out as an early withdrawal with the heavy penalty. I also understand that they MAY give associates some kind of early release deal, where they are still technically employees and receiving that paycheck in the 60 day cycle but do not have to report for work. Looks like managers who were cut early got that deal but everyone else was made to keep working and not given any time to look for a new job

Great question! I am trying to be proactive as well. Do you still receive benefits like 401k and health insurance during the severance period?? Does this change at all if you are released early? For example, if you are cut Nov 1 with an end date of 12/31, but are let go Nov 2...do you still get paid as usual until 12/31 with severance starting first thing in January??
