for those that think ge has to file a warn notice with nys they do not if we're represented by union. all they have to do is notify said union

Here is a WARN notice for you! GE POWER in Schenectady is going to have a 40% reduction in work force! Some more white collar as well as blue collar, yes we have work locked in for next year but not enough!
As long as this is within threshold state by state laws applied independently.
Every location has its own way of lowering overhead costs in a control manner.
Same with the ones in Greenville. They were just under the WARN threshold. I expect that if they have to cut a notifiable number, they will go big and make it count.
The GRC layoffs were just under the level that would have triggered NY's Warn law (less than 250 people).

I’m not familiar with the NY Warn- did they have to do the Warn for the salaried layoffs in GRC or the salaried Power layoffs earlier this year? Those engineers/scientists/etc were not part of a Union.
