Merit and reviews are detached from each other. Reviews already can be given in early December.
That was the idea when it looked like the NXP merger would still happen this year. That way, the first „synergy reductions“ (that‘s what they are calling it) would have been executed seamlessly, camouflaged as performance based layoffs.
Now that NXP merger is pushed back, everything is back to normal.
