Thread regarding Sears layoffs

I do remote monitoring and so many employees look bummed out and stressed.

You can tell by the look on everyone's faces, at least on the feeds from the newer cameras with better PTZ capability. It's like a silent movie. After a while you can tell no one's happy working here. Tell tale signs are hand to forehead, pursing the lips and exhaling, shaking of the head, shaking of the fists, rubbing the temple or forehead area, walking fast with head down to the floor, and yes, crying. I have seen a few stores where an employee goes to a "hiding area" to cry. I've seen another store where a guy punched the wall in frustration.

To tell the truth, this is sad.

Craig has spanked me, I'm not proud of it but rather afraid to speak up or face another spanking.

Well, if anyone's watching me and seeing how hard I bust my a** for this place, usually as the only person working the second floor, and now with a ton of fall/winter stock coming in and how sore I am from dealing with all the new heavy coats these past two days, requiring a lot of moving, rearranging, and desperately trying to scrounge up enough fixtures to put them on via condensing the ridiculous amount of clearance, etc. because that's the only way of trying to get one and doing all this alone on top of all the other usual duties, since, like all stores, we're so short staffed... a raise would be nice. I know it's too much to ask, but...

It is sad the Sears environment is not the same so much stress so much pressure trying to push sales. I was once one of the people that enjoyed working at Sears what made it the best experience was not the pay check, but the people. So many have left its just so cut its so under staffed and work loads are just plain insane. Honestly when I am off feels nice, but when I go to work and see the bunch of task I have with limited of hours really makes me not be motivated at all I just do my job and thats it.

Also the blowout sale is just a huge scam I can't believe customers fall for it.

It will get worse I as an ASM have been instructed by SGM to start PIP paperwork on 4 of my 6 people in my area. He directly said if it isn't done on them, it will be me next, talk about becoming a disgruntled ASM that will be me, some are not even that bad in the area of metrics, the SGM wants to make a statement I guess. Its making me sick to write these folks up , they are doing what they can with they have to work with.

With this blowout sale going on now I get asked often when is your last day to be open... sears is getting just what they are looking for... people that think we are closing so they are buying the clearance up thinking it is a good sale
