More silent layoffs happening at Think Big. Another not so silent round planned for end of month?

RE: What does this mean? I've never heard of anyone getting fired for an expense report here! Do tell!!

Are these really layoffs or firings due to improper expense reporting? Combination of both?

I just read on the blogs that VL's son-in-law is the big investor in Think Big. Now I know why this small company was getting special treatment and why everyone was propping up a small company while screwing Teradata's own products. The biggest mistake of Teradata was "Think Big" I wish someone in the management chain had thought about our own products we wouldn't be laying off employees who gave up half of their lives for this company to be told that you don't have a job one fine morning. I hope all these guys on top get sued big time by employees who got laid off for lack of spine. The board should fire the entire top management so that some competent folks can come and take over the company and save it.

It's not just people who have been with Teradata the longest. It's people they have black listed.

Think big except for the name doesn't have much to offer. The day Teradata bought "Think Big" it was the demise of the database platform and the offerings. Our own guys kept diluting the database. I was in Chicago when I saw Think Big guys show Teradata at the bottom of the stack compared to other databases. We Solution Architects were amazed and some of the old timers questioned the wisdom of the presenters and really challenged them. Wake up VL "Think Big" can't save Teradata only Teradata can save Teradata.

Termination is an excuse basically. They are getting rid of older workers across the board in all the countries. GDC is not different, they are not able to sell and resources have been leaving for sometime for greener pastures. They join the offshore team and get trained and when they don't have projects leave. Pretty soon they will have to shut down few centres as our leaders can't seem to find projects for onshore or offshore. When they terminate good resources this is what happens. Think Big is a totally different problem as they were paper tigers. All the decks couldn't save them just like the Cloud on Azure and AWS story.

It would be nice if everyone who got laid off can file for WARN and get some time. The way termination was done was very cruel. Families can't be even be protected with life insurance. I talked to Metlife and found out that the the insurance can't be ported.. some employees were given portability of insurance. Guess what when you are laid till the time you find your next job you don't have life insurance or proper health insurance.

Are they warning California employees? Is there something like this for other states?

Well someone should ask Teradata management where they get the skills to buy dud companies and then sell them for pennies to $$.

The management at top has wasted so much money the board should have done the job long time ago.. but i guess just like the management the board is also clueless. So many careers have been destroyed by these guys.
