Of course JK fired Randy. That way he could shift the power to his California crew. This was just a way to make their roles bigger. They know nothing about the retail side and maybe less about ecommerce based on the how bad the products are.
If RS was fired instead of laid off that is the ultimate slap in the face. Says a lot about a leader when he expects foot soldiers to sacrifice on his behalf but can't spare a single mouse click to accept their LI connection requests. Shows his true colors, also explains the softness and smoothness of his privileged hands
JK: "The enemy is outside the gates."
Sorry, JK, but I think most of Bentonville thinks YOU are the enemy.
Love this.
The reason the new systems are so buggy is because JK doesn't know what he is doing and the people he has hired in California couldn't get jobs any where else. No wonder nothing works.
If they work better is the operative phrase. So far all the new systems that have been rolled out are buggy as heck and unstable.
It is a symbolic action, JK is signaling major changes in retail technology are around the corner. Bad for those working on the outdated systems, could be good long term for Walmart if the new technology systems work better.
I saw Rob today. I did hear that whole team will work for people in California. i sure hope not. Plan to update my LI profile tomorrow.
Jeremy has squandered billions building a sub par ecomerce website. Walmart Labs is a joke in Silcon Valley. To keep the focus off how bad the talent is in California and the fact we are years behind with outdated technology he fires Randy who leads retail technology. Who is next.
Jeremy is slowing getting rid of anyone that gets in his way. Randy is not the first and will not be the last. Heard tomorrow all the people that worked for Randy will report into his California crew. Has anyone heard this? I wonder when Doug and Marc make the hard call and get rid of Jeremy.
The VP logistics didn't want to report into San Bruno. Wasn't asked to quit but resigned since he didn't like the changes.
Jeremy King is the human embodiment of a nuclear bomb
Who is JK?
Mike b. Was in the office for about a week while his area was being chopped and screwed .
Rob was in the building this morning. Can anyone confirm or is this rumor?
Rob Fuscillo, Lee Moore(g--), Ken Whaley
the other VP was over tech logistics
Do you think they will be able to outsource all of ISD to India?
Well this can only help the Indian economy. Wmt is a globalist company, always has been and JK will be sitting pretty with a big bonus for executing all his layoffs
Who was the VP? Another tech person?
All the work is shifting to India.
How long until the DGTC is empty? Think it'll happen?
I don't feel sorry for Randy, I feel sorry for US. You can be all bitter and spiteful all you want, but we need people like Randy.
It's going to keep happening. Sorry to hear this for the associates affected though.
I just got let go. 19 yrs with the company and I was simply told my job was eliminated.
That SVP has been the main driver of the change required to keep this company relevant. He'll be sorely missed. He's been the only real advocate for developers and was pushing for the direction JK wants for years. I just hope the rest of the cuts offset this loss by getting rid of the roadblocks.
Bigger issue is who and what kind of leaders will be left? Jk is quite a piece of work....
That SVP was one of the drivers of working in modern technology needed to keep up with the competitors... sure, he'll land on his feet quite well, but Walmart Tech will feel the loss.
I’m sure at that level they are very well compensated. Along with those pretty gold parachutes. They should have started at the level and higher first. And stripped them of all those bye-bye perks.
