VI Kmarts

Anyone on here know the fate of the Virgin Islands Kmart locations after irma? I heard the Islands have been devastated.

It doesn't matter anymore if the store makes money. Fast Eddie is looking to sell the real estate. Plenty of profitable stores have gotten the axe recently.

By the way, I Googled "VI Kmart" and the location at Tutu Mall is listed as (Temporarily Closed). The others are listed as open but I suspect that may change after Hurricane Maria barrels through this week. Looks like St. Croix is going to get the direct hit that they missed last time.

They will fix them. The VI stores make more money in one day then some Kmart's make in 2 weeks

As I understand it, St. Thomas & St. John got hammered, but St. Croix came thru OK because it's farther south. I'm wondering if the 2 K-Marts on St. Thomas are going to appear on the next closing list, except with the closing listed as immediate instead of in 3 months.

Wonder if they are going to even bother fixing them.

Two of the three are closed because of power issues and building damage. I think the small one (24,000 sf) that gets all the cruise line business is the one that is open.

They probably look as trashy as the ones on the mainland now.
