Is blue collar next? The next wave of white collar Layoffs in effect. Lower level management with time and knowledge in the business. Engineering got the ax along with maintenance lower level management. Keeping the management with lower salary and lot less knowledge to run the place down. GE Power is doomed!!

We hear the Ax will hit GE Power in Europe in early 2018, excluding France.
When Flannery, reports reduced earnings for GE as whole for FY 2018 things are going to get worse.
Look for more reductions! The bottomline, is the Alstom deal is not looking like was such a sweet deal one year later for Alstom and GE employee's.
The people that really know GE steam turbines know the Alstom steam turbines and generators do not hold a stick to GE design's. Yet, their sales department is being told sell the Alstom units. When the books are opened let's see what a Alstom unit costs compared to GE unit apples to apples comparison and scope of supply. The place is run by a bunch of children that do not know SH_T. I say break the company up ...GE power on their own, GE aviation on their own, GE Medical on their own. Your benefits f__cking s---. No new pensions for new hires, you bone people with 20+ years of service why would anyone want to work there ?
Oh I thought they moved the combined cycle team to Salem a while back.
Combined cycle integration team was cut. All that work moved to Europe. No one is safe.
How many engineers / building 40 salaried were hit?
273 is wherenthe layoffs are the past 2 days.
I heard this also, but not seen any detail in the press...
I heard layoffs went around today.... which engineering and which maintenance were affected?
I was told by my mgr the big axes are coming around in October.
Also saw in some job postings that contractors GE uses are hiring in Schenectady.
Surprised this hasnt caught on to media yet.
How many got it today? What buildings? What is the scope? What groups? What is the thinking behind these latest actions?
