Thread regarding Change Healthcare layoffs

Waiting for layoffs at Change Healthcare

This is nerve racking. How are we supposed to produce quality work and serve our customers when we think the axe might fall everyday? What happened to "This Mck-Chg merge will provide opportunities for our employees"? We get these "rah rah" emails about thinking outside the box, making our own bright futures, and increase organic growth while in the background, they are slicing out our hearts. Is someone actually benefiting? Who, Directors, VPs? It certainly isn't the worker who is working long hours, doing complicated work to apply bandaids to the bleeding due to poor development quality.

I agree, @PgkkNvI-1suh. I've been reading other boards to prepare for what's coming, Humana and Molina both had the same situation. Layoffs announced in advance, then the long wait. Molina is currently going through a round, reading that board was devastating. Good luck to all!

I wouldn't be surprised to see layoffs very soon. Managers were just sent an email stating that there is a "delayed hiring initiative" in effect and the BU must sign off on any positions that are to be filled.

When the layoffs happened in our office in May, they called people into the office and they listened to a conference call and were therefore informed that they were let go. They were not allowed to return to their work areas and their belongings were packed up by people who didn't even know them into copy paper boxes. Their belongings were given to them on their way out (and they didn't even pack up ALL of it). We just kept watching as carts and carts of empty white boxes went by while we were all terrified that one of them was for us. Then there were many meetings that day between bosses. Now every time I see people get called into the office or them call an impromptu meeting, I get really stressed wondering if I'm next. It's insane.

I completely agree as well. This has been my concern since the merger. The last company I worked for merged and same thing happened. Kept everyone in the dark. If I'm going to be laid off I need to know as my income supports my household. At least give us a end date so we can get something lined up.
