Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Early Retirment and Layoffs

Humana will be offering early retirement. The early retirement will not be enough to offset the savings required to be met by RIF. They will be laying off company-wide. It's going to be really substantial. Coming in the next 60 days.

What does HAH being in place long before the ACA have to do with anything? That makes little sense. I believe the ACA was brought up to explain the overall issues Humana is having and the original post about substantial across the board cuts in the next 60 days. Not everything in humana is HAH! The entire company was here before the ACA. What's your point?

Will other insurance companies tell you they are in trouble if they are looking to fill empty spots for the short term? Humana likes to sell its greatness too. Have you say through our rah rah rah meetings?

I have interviewed with other insurance companies in the past couple of months and their programs are doing fine. What Humana thought was going to work did not work now the cookie is crumbling.

Poor enrollment goes back to unaffordable health plans, which ties in with the ACA failure. They have stressed over and over in recent meetings that loan costs are way too high. Hmmmm...wonder why?

We know HAH is struggling, but across the board layoffs signify it is bigger than HAH.

The information you posted is not from credible sources. Therefore its baseless and holds no wieght due to the lack of evidence to support the claims. The changes that we are currently see within Humana at home has nothing to do with the ACA. This is about a program that was developed with a lot of overlapping work, unnecessary roles, and too many people calling the same client to the point the mbr stopped taking our calls and money is lost each month that person remain a utc. Now you do the math!

Humana has not pulled out entirely yet but will do so for 2018. Early retirement has zero to do with tax purposes for Humana. it Is a way of reducing layoffs. Do you think the ACA has improved in the past year to make the articles irrelevant? Hahaha! All of the major companies would not have dumped the exchanges then.

Some of your cited sources are over a year old. Humana pulled out of the ACA last year when it wasn't making money. They are focusing on Medicare and home care. Annually, they offer early retirement for tax purposes. We know more changes are coming....which means more layoffs. You seem to be Repackaging fears for people. Unless you have more specifics than your outdated sources and generalizations, please be careful what you post...post your opinions, thoughts, feelings, but not as facts

What were the failings of the affordable healthcare act?

Thanks to the monumental failings of Obamacare, the health insurance industry is set to implode. It was foreseen and planned in order to force the country into a single payer system. Humana is forced to reduce its workforce to avoid folding completely.

It's about time it turns company wide since HAH has been stripped to bone literally.

"Where have you gotten your information? What departments are to be impacted?"

Company-wide suggests every department has some risk.
