Thread regarding Cabela's Inc. layoffs

2 Years Ago Ironically...

2 years ago, Sept 25th 2015, Cabela's had the large round of layoffs in Sidney that would be the start of the downward spiral. Ironically exactly 2 years to that date, Sept 25th 2017, Cabela's will fail to exist as a company.

What's even more interesting is a quote from M@rk N!enhue$er, VP of real estate and construction, in an Omaha Herald article written on 9/25/15 quotes him as saying:

“It’s part of business. Sidney will get through it. It won’t have any long-term effects,”

It was only about 9 weeks after this that we announced we were looking for a buyer. Interesting how things work out sometimes.

Elliot was a total scapegoat. That diversion was the best thing to happen to TM and the gang.

Tommy was the prince of darkness, assembling a team of pirates who were also misfits and castawayays, solely with the intent of raiding the company and All of the people who believed in it. He created chaos to take the eyes of the employees off of the foolishness that unfolded, the reorganization, the tractors, the list goes on and on, the overspending, the deterioration of the retail stores and product. Yes, some fell, Scott, Brian and other key leaders, too inept to fit in yet still rewarded. This was planned and deliberate - All Tommy understands is stir, chop and sell - it takes talent to grow and provide long lasting value, non in his team understand that. We are many that truly cared and truly believed in what D--k and Jim created and built. Let us not loose faith and go forth and tale our talents to new frontiers- the reapers will smile on the wY our although as with I'll gotten fortunes, will smell of tainted egos. Let us rise above their small world and rebuild with faith and honest effort. Good luck to the thieves who have killed the goose.

Based on an article I read, and I think the link is somewhere on this page. They were planning the sale before those lay offs 2 years ago. Those cuts were the start to get a better price. Also, in the article when Elliot came in they were already planning on doing what Elliot wanted. Makes me wonder who had money invested in Elliot as they walked a way with a large profit.
