And when will they get hit?

@1nnh: as an Oracle customer using Solaris ... I do wonder about "Solaris Marketing"; haven't seen much of that the last three years. We pretty much had to torture their salespeople to get someone-from-Solaris to talk to us, and did have a decent flow of information from the engineering teams - but marketing ? White papers ? Articles on oracle.com ? All that had kinda died three or four years back. If there still is any "Solaris Marketing" then no better way for Oracle to save a few $$$ than setting that "talent" free. On a remote island owned by LE, ideally.
(Someone really disgruntled about how little marketing there has been for a product of that value ...)
Sparc and Solaris PM/Marketing is needed to be able to sell M8 in the next 2 years, that's the plan, same as a minimum amount of sales reps and presales.
so paradoxically those who survive the next round of cuts in november will be more or less safe for a reasonable amount of time.
everyone else is at risk, including those working now on cloud, given the results well below expectations.
Customer Success Is expected to take a hit by end of December.

If you aren't working on the cloud or if you are experienced, expensive talent and not only do you need to be working in the cloud, but also producing, then you are at risk. Expensive talent needs to pull its own weight or they will look to get rid of you and just replace you with a NCG.
Any specific dates?
Solaris and M8 SPARC marketing teams after the show!
