Layoffs will happen November 22nd. They will be folding the Greenville NOC's and Repair Centers into their sister locations.

I havent heard anything about layoffs. They are finally talking about closing down several overlapping offices in 2018. Thats alot of work and it will save millions. Hopefully they take this route. There is a ton of money to be saved, layoffs are the easy way out and they save far less.
If there are to be additional layoffs, they really need to look at their managers...way too many and sitting on some of the conference calls listening to their discussions it is clear they have no idea what they are doing...this is where a HUGE problem is...they are all in self preservation mode and the employees at the bottom along with our customers are the ones paying the price. We need management who can actually deliver guidance.

One thing to keep in mind is that bankruptcy means they can toss the union contract.. We can't keep losing money forever.
Last 4-5 years they have offered voluntary separation package and I doubt this year will be any different. Whether or not there will be involuntary layoff is likely but not a foregone conclusion. Having been laid off years ago I go to work and do my job everyday until they tell me not too. Nobody is safe when it comes to being laid off and those who think differently are mistaken.

Layoffs will be a recurring theme forever at Windstream.
That’s what they’ve been yelling forever, but you can’t ever tell no more just take it day by day, the way I see it now is I was looking for a job when I fount this one
