This post makes me laugh! I don't think it's to much to ask for the elected officials to be on the floor a little bit. Seriously they are the ones making decisions that effect the floor workers and don't want to take the time to actually know what goes on on the floor?!?! The one poster says to go to meeting and get involved! Involved in what??? A committee for nothing?!?! If people had not lost all faith in the leadership and the union in general there would be people running for every position in the hall. However people know that should they run against the establishment, they will not be represented should they have a problem down the line. Or they have gotten to the point where they have just thrown their hands up and said F it, it won't get any better and I'm use to getting screwed now. With 4 years service here at GE I recall seeing the hall staff once!!!! That's when they came around after getting their jobs saying how they would be around..... humm guess that only means during the month leading up to elections. I commend anyone who runs knowing that they will then be blackballed for not just following the status quo. The union does it, the company does it (without any push back from the union) and the state and federal govts do it also. There is apperantly no way to change how politics work. Everyone for themselves and anything to maintain power!!!! As I'm sure I'll be laid off soon, not much of it matters now though, it doesn't matter who you have leading you when the company says "it's layoff time".... that's what happens. Nothing a hall member can do about it. Just my two cents as I read all these rumors on here and enjoy a good laugh.
maybe on 1st shift, but you hardly see them on 3rd. the aba was coming in around 5 once in a while haven't even seen him in months, not everyone has the luxury of sleeping or staring at their phones all night
I suppose you would see them if you looked up from your phone, tablet, computer etc. They are all over the place. In the shop on a daily basis but not Necessarily going to interact with every single person. Lol, it's funny how the individual who starts these rumors are the same people who want your vote because they are running for office against the current leadership. Go to meetings, get involved instead of Blaming people for not doing something you think they are not. You can tell its election time because Anonymous Always shows up on social media to Stir the pot to cause discourse Instead of being part of the solution .Individuals that are so disgruntled but have been saved by the Union multiple times .Maybe the problem isn't the Union leaders but the individuals that never took the time to just do their job and not get in trouble .It's always everybody else's fault SMH. Ignorance is Bliss
@Hobgloblin so the company divided your union loyalty! They have you in their back pocket!! Good luck!! I am glad I retired
Yes Jim valikonis is running vote for him then!!!!!!!!!!!
If your not happy I believe there is a person running for president not sure about the other positions but hey tell the other guy that is running that u want to see him more if elected. You have the right to vote.
They'll eventually follow Erie and move all of the union work to non-union states.
Local 301 has created an environment where the members have such little faith in the Union leadership that they feel uncomfortable speaking their minds and asking questions at the meetings. The memebership should not HAVE to go to Union meetings in order to see their elected Union officials. Before the new Union leadership took office one of the main concerns from the shop floor that was brought to their attention was that they needed to make an effort to have a presence on the shop floor. Here we are in the same position.....management breathing down our necks and no sign of any Union leadership. It makes me sick that I have to pay union dues every week for this lack of representation.
Maybe you should start going to union meetings, ask questions, they work hard for the members. They can’t fight the company who is playing hardball. The company is throwing everything at the unions floor. Trying everything to disrupt and divide the union workers. It is an old GE game that has been going on for 35 years. GO TO THE MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS!!
