Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Its official ! Schenectady NY Campus - 50% Employee cuts (GE & Contractor) + Campus Leased to guess who ?

After the long awaited meeting this morning, we were officially notified that 50% of all employees on the Schenectady campus would be let go by end of 2017 and notified immediately.

Also a few weeks back there was a group of people on campus in Schenectady that were looking at the buildings.

The deal was signed today, half of the Schenectady campus has been officially leased to guess who ...

Lego

They will be manufacturing the lego blocks right here in Schenectady.

This is fake news - I know the person who wrote this. It's a shame people are trolling this site when so many jobs are at stake across GE.

The layoffs in January must have been below the 250 per site requirement(within 90 days) for notification. There is a notice there for the 75 people laid off at the Corporate Tax office in Albany since that entire site was closed.

But neither grc nor schenectady cut earlier this year is on the warn website, did I miss the line?

I would encourage anyone on here to check the NYS WARN website: https://www.labor.ny.gov/app/warn/

Layoffs above 250 people within NYS should be posted there.

The media are clueless and are the last to know. They never got the number from the GRC layoffs in January correct.

This is the best place to find out what is actually happening inside the company regarding personnel. I appreciate the people who take the time to inform others here.

Don't look to this website for news on layoffs. Any credible report of layoffs will be leaked to the media before anybody has time to post on here. If the rumors on this website were true, I'd be reading it in Reuters or Bloomberg already. There will definitely be major layoffs, but I don't believe anybody has announced how many or where.
