Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Start an online petition to stop the mass and mad acquisitions of hardware companies by Asian conglomerates

Broadcomm moving its headquarters to Bayarea from Singapore seems more an attempt to make it look like an American company taking over another American company.

Obama Administration allowed rampant purchases of hardware companies and semiconductor companies. Please petition Govt to stop this acquisition madness.

No point in whining in this board.

As an example, see the protectionism that Toshiba and Japanese Govt demonstrated by preventing Western Digital from acquiring its flagship NAND subsidiary.

Please someone start a petition and post it in the message boards of hardware companies.

Word will spread.

I'll take $70 no risk. For QCOM to get there on their own, they need 1) no royalty changes from Taiwan and South Korea, 2) to close NXP deal and generate cost synergies, 3) win U.S. FTC suit, 4) favorably settle with Apple, 5) hope Samsung, Huawei, Xioami, and Apple do not use their own modem or applications processor and abandon the Qualcomm integrated solution. Highly unlikely QCOM "runs the table" on all the above risks.

For the people who does their job ok nothing to worry about

Enter a Supermarket and there are 8 different brands of toilet tissue papers. Why cant companies that produce competing products be allowed to stand alone ? Unfortunately, in MnA, it is indeed employees who do their work who are let go off.

There is everything to worry about if an entire (money making) business division is shut.

It's True, Obama and Clintons sold us off to any enemy government as long as they got payoffs to their foundations.

Doing business with other countries is fine. Selling IP developed by one country to another country - Corporate bigwigs care about profits and stock prices. Governments should care about its people and its innovation and cripple the hands of the corporate bigwigs. Japan and Singapore are both classic examples where the Governments have put people first over profits and money. Sadly, Obama let it happen. Trump is too busy to make it stop either.

Yes, making money from other countries is fine. Being bought by companies from other companies is not!

It's called hypocrisy, and it is deeply ingrained in our DNA!
