In my area(Maine) we've been given print outs of their customers purchases and pricing and told to go after them full bore.I don't like this,I don't think it will work, and will piss off the independents. The fact that we have access to all their info seems wrong.Just another low blow from Advance. Is this happening elsewhere?

That's one way to do it.
I worked for NAPA and they did they same thing. The difference was that they gave the company store sales numbers to the independents. AAP wants to thin the independent CQ herd.
Is this common knowledge? I'm an independent and higher ups deny it.They wouldn't be less than truthful, would they?
Smart independents have left! GO NAPA and have parts to sale!
One team? That concept left with GPI.
Here in FL we receive ind sales data on a regular basis. We are told to price match plus an additional 15% to get the sale. Most times we end up selling far below cost. I don't understand how this make sense. I thought we were one team?
That’s not the first time independent information has been divulged. The CQ independents serviced by DES/LAK/KAN all had DC sales numbers shared with the store groups that had overlapping markets this past spring. You can thank MP (who went packing) and CM in KC for this initiative. Fortunately most of the cams were not sharp enough to make a significant impact.
That's proof that they don't want independents.
