Thread regarding Sprint layoffs

Sprint needs to stop cutting experienced employees

Why would you cut experienced legacy employees to cut costs? It's completely counterproductive. I'd pay good money for a leadership that realizes that experience is a good thing.

Experience brings in more money than it costs and it will certainly lose you more money than you'll save by replacing those people. You might be paying new people less, but they will cost in training, time taken from other employees to show them how to do something, correcting the mistakes they make...

Of course, those at the top don't see this since they're completely disconnected from how we operate on lover levels. But they do see those small bumps in profit for the first quarter after the layoffs. No matter that they are already gone the following quarter, they got what they wanted, so why should they care?

As a newer employee at sprint, I would have to disagree.. This company keeps people around despite negative work traits, because they are long term employees. Its not easy being a new employee in sprint - most people have worked there 20 years and the overall morale is "been there, done that.. Blah blah, don't do what's right for fear of being laid off". Its tje opposite of innovation. Other companies aren't like that, which is why they are not trailing in 4 th playing catchup. TMo is doing well because they are bucking the industry hard headeness and wrong assumptions about the customer. This industry is changong and the employees need to change with it or they will take the whole company down.

Just have to wonder why, in the midst of Trump-promised company bonuses and tax relief Sprint employees get more stress from lay-off threats and higher Kansas taxes.... just wondering
