Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

Amazon exploiting workers, just like altice will

This sounds exactly like what altice has done with Ats. It is only a matter of time before they have the same systems fully in place. Think of the Amazon drivers as techs and the packages as routes. Amazingly similar.

"But agency workers denied the system allowed for traffic jams or factored in time for breaks. Steven Eckett, head of employment at solicitors Meaby and Co, said: “These workers deliver Amazon packages, collected from an Amazon depot and are given a route designed by Amazon. They are Amazon workers in all but name."

“But Amazon are trying to distance themselves from the workers to circumvent employment law. This needs to be challenged.”

ATS Values

  1. Unfair and Disrespectful Treatment

(Good luck staying in good standing when we expect 70-80 pts a day with underpointed jobs)

  1. No Access to Management Regarding Your Concerns

(We really don't care what your concerns are)

  1. An Unsafe and Dirty Work Environment

(We can't give you the time to work safely and we have no money for cleaning supplies)

  1. An Unrealistic Statement of Company Rules, Regulations and Expectations

(We want as many opportunities as possible to write you up, deny you raises and bonuses, and fire you)

  1. No Opportunity for Training and Development

(We'd rather just hire someone willing to work for less than we're paying you)

  1. Salary and Benefits That are Unfair and Uncompetitive

(To quote our leader "We'd prefer to pay you as little as possible")

  1. No Tools and Equipment for the Proper Performance of Your Job

(We don't want to spend the money for either...find a way to complete your route w/o modems or routers or fittings)

  1. Fear of Reprisal if You Express Your Views

(Didn't you notice what we did to your supervisor who thought he could express his views?)

  1. Unfair Procedures for Promotional Opportunities

(We were sure you wouldn't notice we're hiring BBT IVs for $15/hr rather than promoting BBT IIIs, and don't even get us started on the Team Leader shell game we played on you.)

  1. No Career Growth and Opportunities in a Stagnant Environment

(We can shuffle you around to dead end jobs like Design or Construction where we'll promptly fire you as soon as we get what we need from you.)
