This is about the 21st Century Fox acquisition by Disney, but the last part ranks words used as codes for layoffs, to make it not sound as bad as it is. Each and every one of them has been used by GE at some point.

ALL corporations are desperate to hide, downplay, or deceive about layoffs. Not one single company that doesn't do it, not one.
Why?
Not just about maintaining their image, it's about supporting the narrative that the economy is doing great, etc, etc, blah blah. If it's doing so great, why so many layoffs? Spend a few mins reading "Latest Posts" for a dose of layoff reality.
GE is the tip of the iceberg baby, just the tip of the iceberg.
