Once budgets are finalized I would expect there to be more cuts in 2018. Odds are fixed expenses have gone up as the outsourced vendors have stock holders to so as they charge more we will need to cut employee to match billing increases and then cut some more for cost cutting targets. Titanic continues to sink

I have had my issues with IT departments over the years at several companies, but want to defend the people who are actually doing the work. Measuring IT efficiency, especially for support and creation versus installation, is difficult but using the metrics mentioned is just stupid but consistent with our so-called leadership. Insufficient IT support insidiously degrades all of the necessary business activities in ways that are untraceable to the culprits that caused the problems. Ref. SAP launch at AZ Aero years ago.

IT has had RIFs almost every year for the past 10 years and many years 2 And 3 in a year

This recent action hit some very dedicated and hard working people. IT failure isn't due to the workers it's the VP level being clueslees just like VPs in the business areas. And 2018 is lining up to be worse as they cut funding further to show savings and OEF (organization efficiencies or RIFs)

Fully expect to see more cuts in 2018 of people, projects, and services to show savings. No intent to show business value, just cost cutting. That is the strategy and only goal. HPD goals should be shortened to one. Cut costs at any cost, regardless of impact or reduced business value

IT in Honeywell 5ucks very badly....not sure we would feel it. Might be better with less people. At least they would have an excuse as to why they just 5uck. They can replace them with some bobble heads out of Bangelore.

You want to save big money. Get rid of the Senti*** platform no one uses or wants to use. That whole team doenst know what they are doing and no one knows what they actually provide.
