Rumors circling this morning, all hush hush still. I'm hearing that we may be going to an all RN model. (I don't know if this is true, just rumors I'm hearing. So take it for a grain of salt). The people talking said that nurses will no longer have a defined MOC, that all calls will be moved to an as needed status or scheduled per member request only. And that the PHC role does not fit into that plan.

Mental health training? Okay then.
Without saying what my degree is in, I will say that it has absolutely zero to do with mental health. Maybe they can quickly train us to prescribe pills and perform minor surgeries as well?
This seems unethical.
Makes sad sense since we have no mental health support programs....wasn’t that training supposed to be done in September?
My team was told that the PHC care plan start date is moved to March because we will go through training in January to address mental health issues in members. So now PHCs are not only being asked to do nursing assessment and care planning but social/behavioral services as well. We're being asked to work at the top of our nonexistent license! Give me strength!
Do we know for certain that there are only 250 PHCs left?
Why does telemodality not work without PHC’s? Nurses would just take the members in need and rest would go to monitored, no?
If there’s 250 PHCs, it would s--- if those were the 250 they were talking about....and telemodality doesn’t work without the PHCs...and while Fleming only mentions nurses as clinical staff, I still feel like there’s a strange thing going on... OP, where are the rumors originating from?
Did anyone get a reason from their coach? Why care planning is scrapped for the near future? What’s the spin?
There are only 3 coms left for phcs and 13 for rn nurses. Seems like they are getting rid of us phcs
PHC here. My coach confirmed we will no longer be doing care plans effective 1/2.
I don’t see it going to an all RN model, sorry, even home health is not all RN
Rns have been scheduling calls and front loading since October with roll out of telemodularity
Does that mean the RNs are going to autodialer? Very strange about PHCs and care plans....an all RN model wouldn’t work, because of needing the interdisciplinary care plan with the hcmss. The RN does medical, but not psychosocial
How many PHCs are there right now? Anyone know?
HCMRN here. We were told in our weekly team meeting that we needed to get used to scheduling calls, because after the new year all calls would be scheduled and the hcat roster with upcoming MOC wouldn't tell us who was "due" anymore.
Sorry below should say until after q1
They just announced no care planning rollout for phc’s after q 1. It was supposed to roll out Jan 2. Why, after scheduling these trainings?
Something is up.
I'm not sure I believe this quite yet.... would mean lots of staff changes.... including coaches. You can't have non medical staff overseeing RNs.
If RN oy wouldnt that also mean no HCMSS or CHEs?
It’s about time someone admitted PHC’s won’t be needed
Is your source reliable and/or privy to such change information or is it all speculation?
I wonder how many nurses they will need for PRN purposes? This is not good. Thanks for sharing
