It’s difficult to follow these rambling, incoherent posts, but I’ll try. I consider my job, a job, just that. Not a gift, not personal, strictly business. I never believed the company “cared”for me (remember, this is business, not your mother or girlfriend). I’ve always expected to be compensated and rewarded for my hard work, and that’s usually happened.
I have no illusions that the company (processes or structure) is going to look like this in 5 years. I suspect we’ll need fewer employees (technology, data and artificial intelligence), and there will be a large consolidation of bricks and mortar. (I also believe there will be significantly more virtual roles)
The difference between you and me, is I know it’s a business, and have never been naive enough to think the company “cared” for me personally. I can either find a new role within the company, or relocate. I’ve already done both, more than once. It’s a COMPANY, and it serves its shareholders.
Get over it, you child.
