GE could exit Baker Hughes stake next year, analyst says

Dec. 21, 2017 5:56 PM • SA Editor Carl Surran

General Electric (NYSE:GE) could exit its 62.5% ownership of Baker Hughes (NYSE:BHGE) as soon as 2018, says Deutsche Bank analyst John Inch, who rates GE a Sell with a $15 price target.

Inch says BHGE CEO Brian Worrel told a conference last week that the company would end its "factoring" relationship with GE Capital, which the analyst says could portend GE's exit.

"GE's exit timing may not be optimal, especially considering the pickup in industry activity is likely to continue given improved energy prices," Inch writes.

GE shares finished flat in today's trade after hitting a six-year low yesterday, closing below $17.50 for a second straight day; BHGE closed -1.3%.

Heads up D--k munchers, BH is going to be broken up to either sell or shut completely down. You can think old Crackerhead for this good move. But togever we can make a difference.

The problem is the BH Aberdeen managers haven't a clue what they're doing and totally out of their depth. Education std is low thats why they write a lot of sh--- on here.

It never ceases to amaze me how some posters believe Aberdeen determines the fate of BHGE. You really need to see yourselves for how unimportant you are the the total company. Lose Aberdeen and nobody will notice. Won’t even make a newspaper headline outside of Scotland.

Why would anyone buy BH when Aberdeen offices are on their knees and closing down after losing revenue big time, opportunities and contracts. BH will be broken up only way to get it sold but could be cheap.

You total clown how is it a fake report? Look on any shares website just now and you will see that GE are still talking about selling BH asap.

You guys need to start to realise that no one wants to buy BH and GE want to sell us.

The only way is down from here and if you actully spend time looking into the company you will see there's a good chance of GE breaking up BH to sell it off.

Don't believe any of the lies they are telling you they can't do it as they can and will.
