I would have remained at BNY if it weren’t for the fact that they gave very little opportunity for growth. Despite earning a salary that is below industry standards and a workload that can bore you to tears, I felt that I could be an asset to my department.
Towards the end, I realize that those who have been with the bank for years will take precedence over those who have been there less and yet have proven themselves through their quality of work, which I found really sad.
If you want any kind of growth potential as an employee then this isn’t the company for you. Looking back I consider this as just another stepping stone.
