Working at Booz Allen and not being employed at the company's HQ pretty much puts you in a position equivalent to the one of a second class citizens.
All the people who rave about working here are from the HQ. They are not lying. But boy, does their experience not apply to the rest of us.
If you are not a part of their "club," you can kiss goodbye any good projects. You will also be stuck with a small number of clients with no way to increase that number. The pay is significantly lower as well, and a lot of your activities are not compensated for by the company.
Layoffs will usually include people from outside of HQ since we are the expendable ones, seen only as numbers by the management. I don't think I have to mention that any advancement opportunities are nearly exclusively reserved for the folks at the HQ.
And these are only the highlights, it goes much deeper than this. I doubt things will change any time soon, but I really would like to see Booz try to survive without the rest of us.
