Does anybody know what happens to unused vacations if layoff or if I leave the Qualcomm? I am just curiosity.

Good advice. I would hold taking vacation until you know you are safe from layoff or at vacation cap.
Unused vacation paid out in cash on your last day. Vacation is not part of severance package so even if you resign you get the money. In general best for all folks in Q to ride as close to the max accrual amount as possible these days.

Your unused vacations will get paid in cash in either cases. If you think you may be affected in the next 4 months, don't take vacation since this is extra cash you may need when laid off.
