Thread regarding GE Digital layoffs

Stop guessing and blaming

Posters seem to be blaming everybody and guessing when and where layoffs will come. It seems to me just meaningless exercise. Here is what i have found out that may be interesting but realize we can't have any input into what is happening so it is just info. All hub leaders and a HR transformation leader are in Detroit. They are discussing which hubs should do what under the transformation. Even though a non-hub corporate will have a lot of layoffs be 100% assured that there will be quite a few layoffs at the hubs when all is said and done. Which hubs take the brunt is yet to be determined.

My impression of the Anup and the other hub leaders is that they are intelligent and good communicators. Most are GE insiders that are part of GE's downfall so my confidence is low that they can turn it around. I really do hope they succeed and wish them no ill will. Only issue is i have is when leaders talk about how hard it is on them or that they feel our pain. They must recognize this rings empty because they have been through all the good years and profited greatly from it. If i get the axe i will have trouble feeding my family and paying for heathcare. But i don't blame leaders just need to reset and hope for the best.

"The endless ITLP and leadership programs that created ill experienced, arrogant mini monsters"

Agree completely agree. ITLP and DTLP and CAS and what all leadership crap programs are there .

No wonder GE stocks at 17 USD..

I am sure its going all the way to 5 USD

Stop these wasted programs and stop promoting people with 0.0 EQ to be managers.

Useless guys who can just talk and push garbage around

Ruh, Fowler, Drumgoole, Miller — GE’s ability to pick actual leaders who inspire and motivate has been lined with bad, bad choices that are laughable. If they clean house it should continue at the top.

So much blame to go around.

The endless ITLP and leadership programs that created ill experienced, arrogant mini monsters. The C level leadership who made disastrous investments and decisions. HR and people managers treating employees like garbage. Bad team dynamics, bad managers, nepotism and turf wars. Third rate employee benefits and pay while the leadership helped themselves to big bonuses, perks and retirement packages.

Are you really surprised with the state of the organization? This is an industrial company stuck in the industrial age. The inevitable end of a great American icon is here.

No, we don't blame everybody. We blame the leadership. Go layoff themselves.
