Today is my last day at IBM due to an RA .. 10 + years and I am glad to be rid of the stress and unethical behavior I have witnessed first hand ..
How good is IBM about sending you your last paycheck and severance ? I signed my separation agreement first thing this morning.. from that to process to send .. any ideas of how long it took others? Thank you !
I had mine in less than a week, and I hadn't even sent in my assets yet.
IBM is good about sending last paycheck, vacation pay and any severance. Usually 1-3 business days. My vacation got held up for a couple of weeks due to user (i.e. Mgr) error.
With regards to vacation pay, hopefully you discussed any expectations with your Manager. This is the one area that often gets screwed up and there is a disagreement about. For those that have not yet been RA'd, when your time comes, capture everything from W3 and discuss the finer details with your Mgr. Also, follow up with an email to your Mgr with the discussion you had and ask them to reply with confirmation. This will also help you, in case your Mgr is also part of the same RA. Once , your Mgr is gone there is no correcting without this documentation...
IBM screw someone over and delay payments?? Oh no, that's never been done before.
It's a valid question. I know people who had to wait a pretty long time.
Like IBM is a virtuous fortune 500 company that would never do such a thing?
There would be law suits? Don't make me laugh.
That's the thing this giant POS has over every employee, the ability to cloud things up in the courts. That's about the only cloud IBM are experts in. But you keep drinking that kool-aid.

So you posted the question after signing the agreement, 17 hours ago. Are you kidding me ? You worried you won't get your paycheck after signing your agreement "this morning" ???
You should have it by Monday at the latest is my guess.

I have been looking for new opps for over 3 months... however that does not answer my question as someone who has a family and needs to support not only themselves .. the fact that I did not receive my paycheck today and that I need to wait for checks from IBM is the reason I am asking ... how long from today till ???
Bro, one would assume IBM/HR are experts at sending severance packages / last paychecks by now.
Also, one would assume that there would have been lawsuits by now if they ever, ever scam an employee. Chill, start looking out for new opps., instead of worrying if IBM, a Fortune 500 company, will not send out last paychecks.
