The unlimited wireless plans that Verizon Wireless recently started offering have changed their economics projections. Was laid off today in Southlake. Hired during the glory years when you paid under per minute plans - highly profitable but gone due to competition. Expect rounds of layoffs every couple months until VZ gets real skinny or finds other ways to monetize their network. Burden of cost has been nicely covered by consumer wireless for a long time. Going to have to spread that burden across more and different markets now.
