Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

PHC’s any updates on early release?

Good Morning, I was wondering if any PHC’s who were affected this round heard anything about early release? It would be nice if they let us go before the holidays so that we can at least enjoy our holidays without being stressed and then can start looking for jobs after

Shame that HAH is losing incredible talent.

I agree with you too. Humana is telling us essentially they don't value us as employees and the 60 days' notice is required for large companies to provide, so they are following guidelines. I believe it would be most HUMANE to let us go early, not only because this is what they did for the last three rounds, but this is the HOLIDAYS! That is truly is in humane thing to do to since notifying us of this at the holidays. Not only can we not spend any money because we don't know when we will get another position somewhere, but I will remember this RIF for every Thanksgiving and Christmas for years to come. I live paycheck to paycheck as it is and when severance is over, my family will be homeless if I don't secure another job by then. I thought I found my dream job too, and I made sure to come to work to be the best person I could to show I appreciated the job. To the person who will continue to work, good for you. I will too, as I would never do anything to my employer, even when they break our employment contract. The idea behind letting you all go early is because you are member-facing, and have access to a ton of HIPAA information for all members in SNP programs. They are trying to prevent you from accessing info you are not privy too and prevent you from doing any type of revenge against them with it. Considering we are not getting the bonus/raise or what ever you want to call it in January, we will be in the unemployment line while you get a raise, and can't have a proper Thanksgiving or Christmas with our family, releasing us early is the only Humane option.

Thanks to the ones who answered my question! And as far as @Qia2gDq-tqc. Don’t know if that response was for me , but no where in my post did i mention work for freebies. I get so irritated with ppl like you who post negative comments! Ain’t nobody looking for “freebies” the last 3 rounds of lays off got released early and I would like the same! I have jobs to look and interview for. How do you expect for ppl to go on interviews while working 9-5 M-F? Good for you that you wanna continue to slave and kiss Humana a-- for the next 60 days. We have been getting treated like sh-- and i refuse to live up to their expectations. You continue to do good work and be their little pet.

Unimpacted PHC. Pretty confident reteaming happens on the 27th, which means it's pretty safe to assume early release will be the 22nd or sooner.

Many of us PHCs are hoping for early release because that is what happened in the past three layoffs. We just want equal treatment with others who lost their jobs this year.

Good for you, below poster! Everyone with differing viewpoints should be ashamed! How dare they feel frustrated after losing their jobs? How dare they feel like they just want to move on? They need to be just like you, poster, you shining example, you.

I don't think people are looking for freebies. I think it's more along the lines of not having any work to do because of the monitored program and being able to use this time that we have to find and secure something else. A lot of people have families and it's not very easy to find the time to apply for jobs as they do take very long nowadays. I do feel that Humana screwed a whole lot of people. They recently hired so many people and let them go. Why did they hire them? Clean up and roll out the new monitored program. Those people left good stable jobs and now have to start all over. A job for 3-4 months does not look good on anyone's resume.

I am so irritated with those who think they deserve "a long and paid for holiday". Really? Are you freaking kidding me? What makes you think you should be paid not to work? We were given a 60 day notice. Meaning we are given the courtesy of knowing our jobs will be ending In 60 days. It does not mean we should expect to get an additional 30-60 days of pay without work. I am sickened by the mentality of my co-workers expecting something for nothing like Humana owes it to us. And dont give me the line of bull that they screwed us over. I am fully willing and prepared to work until January 2nd. I believe in earning my money and not expecting freebies!!!!!

PHC here. Also no news. My coach keeps saying we should hear something "soon". I don't understand the logic behind keeping us for so long after notification of RIF's (if there is any actual logic being used here, I would love for someone to prove it...). It seems people are struggling to find members to call at this point and I am sure some folks would appreciate the extra members added to their rosters from those who have been laid off. This time of year makes things very hard for job hunting and by stringing us along, I am finding setting up interviews with other companies to be very challenging.

No word yet for me. Not so patiently waiting. I asked my coach yesterday if she had heard anything/updates on early release and she said she hadn't.
