Thread regarding Chicago Bridge & Iron layoffs

NEW MGMT EFFECTIVE?

Do you believe CBI is on the path to an effective reorganization with the new mgmt? Will they be more effective or much the same as those they have replaced?

I speculate that once this change has been put in place and we are through the first quarter and sale, it will be followed by major layoffs and the upper management will shift again.

Everyone is on thin ice here in the Woodlands and it is clear to see with the low morale.

When hiring is low in the industry, people are forced to go forward as if they matter, and as if the company is not crumbling. The market will turn eventually and good employees will be gone.

Considering they are curring every woman above director and are in the process of two more rounds of layoffs... yeah. This is the company that the works council had to force them to hire people back. The head of hr is on a witch hunt for the leaks but is the major source because of shooting off his mouth.

Add in the fact the lawsuit over 401k accounts being turned into CB&I stock while the previous CEO was dumping the stock is valid. Furthermore, the violation of the warn laws, slander of former employees, having eurozone ethics calls investigated by the person who the ethic complaints are about... The HR lawsuits alone are worth it.

But the head of HR is doing a good job surrounding himself with blonds. Probably why his best friend fled the company.

PM is a faceless entity who is here to liquidate cbi with the least amount of damage possible. His new 'team' is temporary. Mark my word, cbi will be taken over and it will not be a surprise to anyone except us.

Is PM on the right track to repairing this, or mich the same? He definitely lacks the ability to communicate with his employees. Does he realize how these layoff have impacted the morale?

CB&I is doomed. The previous management drained the company dry. If you do not take care of your employees, no body wants to work for you. The result is poor quality and companies will not do business with you. MBA's are great but they cannot replace common sense.

CB&I has cut so many corners they are going in circles now. You have to spend money to make money. All Phil wanted to do was drain the company. Who pays for it? The shareholders do.
