Verizon India started the layoffs. 937 out of existing 6000 are getting laid off by Dec 15-2017 and expecting 50% layoff - approx 3500 by Feb 2018. Fingers crossed.

The goal is cost cutting, so it makes little sense to reduce offshore vs onshore. But it's not just US Citizens, they RIF onshore people who aren't citizens as well.

Also, remember in VzB there are a number of places outside the US that aren't low cost. Don't know if these got cut in this round.

Teams on visp and iot were cut by 70 percent in India.

Just US. Offshore staff have to have at least 3 months notice before they are off payroll. This RIF had to be complete by end of 2017.
