I got laid off last week and heard that November 2017, december 2017 and january 2017 are going to be a big purge. It is the BEST (India, Malaysia, China) vs the REST(US, Ireland). So the layoffs are going to be happening in the REST sites. EMC IT is going to be history soon and it is no mystery.
Anybody knows if there is any truth to this?

REST includes Singapore too. this is true for individual contributors in support role and R&D, anything not related to direct revenue generation. Not true for front lines and management. L3 and above will still be based completely on the REST because come on if you are a big boss would you stay in a BEST location? He she can be an Indian but located in US.
