layoffs have been going on (continually) in Finance. Kept very quiet.
I do expect layoffs in Q1 2018 given our latest quarterly results. Layoff people earlier in the year so you don't have to give them a full bonus for the year. There's little doubt of layoffs.
What @PLwK5LI-tskp said. I'm not sure how people can ask if there will be layoffs when they have never stopped. They're just making sure to keep them small enough to avoid having to file a WARN notice or making sure not to draw attention. Face it, job security at AIG is a myth.
