As someone else has eluded to, Eddie owns a major stake in both Auto Nation and Sears
Sears could be planning a deal with Auto Nation.
Why else would Sears amend its loan agreements to allow for a sale of its auto centers.

Why would Autonation buy dilapidated stores mostly in B & C malls that are soon to have (another) vacant anchor and try to build their brand from that instead of just starting fresh in prime locations if this is something they want to do?
I read auto nation is getting rebranded as Diehard.

This is old news. Sears has been trying to sell it's auto centers for years and no one wants to buy them.
No one will let Eddie run another retail business
Or could rebrand more of them as DieHard
