Regulators will force a SALE of these assets, not a shutdown.. Regulators will want to maintain competitive balance.. The new owners of the assets may cut of course.
The EU will be especially harsh to this deal and extract many concessions. RF360 would seem to be very simple - sell back 51% ownership to the minority JV partner.
One QCA Senior Director manages only 4 guys under him. Probably collecting over $400K per year. Today will be good old days soon.
According to San Diego Union Tribune, Hock Tan is planning to save $3B annually in admin. and R&D.
He also plans to save 0.7-1.3B by removing overlaps like WiFi. That is one time thing.
In general, 4000 people cost $1B in US.
