This applies to all companies - not only GE: A bad boss can make your job bad even in a very good company - they will micromanage you, blame you, and make your life miserable. A good boss will stand up for you, will trust you, will listen to you, will make a yours a good job even in a weak company.
So, pick any company where you like the boss you are working for.

This post sounds like it was put up by a desperate management or HR person. Even the best manager in the world can't stop a corporate death spiral, and right now no managers job is safe.

I used to like my GE boss, in fact, I never had a bad GE boss until the last young whipper snapper came on board. She is clueless but has friends in high places.
Loved my boss but the uncertainty between having a job and not having one was too great. Especially when you have a family to take care of. I'm looking out for me first!
My boss and my previous boss have both left the company over this past year :(
Stick with GE only if there is good business and you can contribute to the company, not to sit around there.

I think the GE people who like their boss are not the ones griping on this page. The people who like their boss are the ones who still have faith in the company and hope GE is able to rebound.
