Severance Package information shared with non HR-personnel in Box account..........

I was laid off yesterday, kind of a relief to be honest at this point since GE has been spiraling out of control for years now. Question I had was, my severance package information was uploaded to a box folder instead of sent to my email yesterday.

It was also shared with no less than FIFTEEN NON-HR PERSONNEL! Is this even legal? Nobody needs to see that information except me and HR. Has this happened to anyone else?

Raise a concern over data protection, Make an integrity complaint. Make a complaint to whoever your global HR bod is. You make enough noise you may save your job or if you want to go get enhanced payments through their negligence, they will want to avoid a court case.

No, this is not legal. That information is PII and you need to open an integrity concern.

I believe that this is, in fact, legal. The contents of the severance package are laid out in the employee documentation as part of the benefits package. If, however, it showed YOUR SPECIFIC financial remuneration, it may be illegal.
