Staff fair pay

Staff, 10 years of experience, base 135k. Glass door says my base should be 155k+. Is GS exaggerating?

This is very important for me .. please advise .

I am senior engineer 8 yes exp in Qualcomm bay area .. currently evaluating offer 130k + 12% bonus , no RSU , in software engineer 3 at Cisco systems , bay area .

Should I push v.hard for software engineer 15% bonus ? They are negotiating for 3.

How is CISCO vs qualcomm ?

Should I stay back and ask for raise here ?

Currently 125k + bonus +rsu -140k.

Guys please please advise ..

GS is exaggerating. Their data is not verified or backed up by real numbers.

If you are 10 years at Staff level, ask yourself why weren't you promoted already.

Perhaps you are comfortable in your level and not willing to work harder, or expand your responsibilities. Another aspect could be business needs in your team which do not justify it (IOS can help you).

Wow, to get from 135 to 154 in 3% annual adjustments will take 4.5 years. I can't wait that long to get the promo. What can i do to take home more $s?

@1usc No, because SD is basically Qualcomm. That‘s why I am trying to get out of SD quickly.

Market ratio of 1 for Staff sw engineer at SD is 140k. Usually when promoted to Staff you are at 0.85 and should get promote to sr staff when you are at 1.1 (154k). How soon to get there is up to your performance. It takes normally 6 years. Now that's average. Reality it depends on many factors....

I am Sr. Staff at a diff company, 17 years exp, multiple internships, base is 140K. I followed the threads in this company page as I wanted to get an idea of prevalent wages myself. I live in Bayarea, much more expensive. I am however a woman.

How can you actually live in SD with a 135k salary? Are you single with a one bedroom apartment?

By the way, this is for SD location.

Should I be a sr.staf with 10years full time plus several internship jobs?
