Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Anybody else feeling good about the new year?

Am I the only one who actually feels good about the incoming year for Oracle?

There weren't as many layoffs as we have feared in the last quarter, and I'm hoping that trend will continue. Analysts are bullish on our stock, which is a good way to ring in the New Year. And we have Amazon using our autonomous database.

All in all, I'm hopeful. Or I might be still drunk from the celebration.

To be fair HP was already in big trouble before MH took the reins. It was too dependent on printer sales and was becoming irrelevant in Enterprise computing. MH certainly didn't help HP, but the blame isn't all his. CF, LA and MW all contributed to HP's troubles.

@R24HDhz-5qya is 100% accurate I. Their post.

Take a hard loon at how MH destroyed HP, the oracle destruction is about to accelerate - as per the previous post. The call center strategy is deranged! Cuts costs in the short term and runs the company into the ground, EXACTLY like MH’s strategy did at MH - running companies into the ground is what he does and the only thing he does! Yes, LE is a total idiot for hiring him. LE is also an old, tired dude out to lunch.

The worst is behind us at Oracle, there will be no layoff in my groups

Sorry, but Oracle is on a huge decline. Just because the budget for layoffs is defined into June, there's no reason why there won't be more layoffs after that.

In fact, once they destroy the sales force and start using kids in call centers, NOTHING is going to sell. This is just the beginning of the layoffs as Oracle goes into a death spiral.

@211z - great, now go and stick your head in a toilet bowl and don’t ever take it out

I am happy and looking toward the future. Left Oracle behind and everything looks so much better. No more psycho managers to deal with, nobody trying to sabotage everything I do. The new year looks great to me!

And all of you’d will happen because oracle has the best management team ever, nobody else matters but they are the best. So there. Best year ever yet to come!

Well Happy Oracle. I am one that is being laid off next week. I had a wonderful Christmas in not knowing what is going to happen. Have you ever tried to find a job either within Oracle or outside during the holiday season. YES its a wonderful time Oracle. Who does that to employees? Could those fabulous rulers of Oracle not shown a little pity on the employees and wait until the end of february? Say what you want but that is ruthless and very hateful of a company who lets people go at this time of year.

As someone who spent nearly 2 decades with Oracle...I think the best days are behind you. Things will NOT get any better. Now, I don't say this because I have a grudge with Oracle, I say this because over 2 decades, I have seen first hand what and how Oracle has done to its employees--many of which were my own co-workers and friends.

This isn't a place where employees matter. This is a business first. They are fighting to remain relevant and competitive in the marketplace. It's nothing personal, it's just business when they decide to move your role to another state or country.

The reality is that most big tech companies are going through some very rough times, some in far worse situations. So, if you are young, and new to the company, you may not even notice much difference...but stick around long enough, and you will surely see just how bad things can be.

Me? I left the company last year and could not be happier working for another tech company. I was too afraid making the move after spending so much time with Oracle and think perhaps many might be feeling the same. Don't be afraid to make the switch, there are a lot of great companies out there to work for. Life is too short to stay at a job that you don't like.

Good luck!

Trying to post and says this content already exists....oh well.

Oracle Autonomous Database ( aka. oracle f--- on premise cst ) is not available yet.

so how can amazon can use it ?

oh wait, it is in the cloud ...

what you smoke makes cloud, right ?

by | Post ID: @R24HDhz-ksk

No. The next earnings report is likely to be disappointing as more customers move off Oracle, and now Netsuite has been part of Oracle for more than a year. I guess we will find out how much of the SaaS growth is Netsuite. Margins are eroding, SC is still in charge, is still maintaining margins through layoffs, and she still has the “just in Time” Cloud strategy where customers wait weeks to get Cloud services provisioned vs. minutes for AWS and Google. The Cloud strategy is also still based on the false hope that customers will still be buying expensive appliances such as the “Exadata Cloud Machine”.

by | Post ID: @R24HDhz-hku

seems kim jong hurd has not seen the announcement from Amazon and Salesforce, anf the orcl stock dropping.

Communication seems to be a big problem in Pyongyang redwood shore.

Hopefully autonomous database will make make oracle great again.

Oh wait, haha ...

@R24HDhz-bip Are you joking , Do Oracle have any integrity ? any Ethics ?

They will identify themselves as legal only.

by | Post ID: @R24HDhz-jxg

Shouldn’t oracle’s integrity policy required that HR, LegL and others posting on behalf of oracle identify themselves as such, rather than pretend to be individuals posting their own private opinions? Please immediately revise and follow the integrity policy.

by | Post ID: @R24HDhz-bip

This is oracle HR, we want you to know that oracle is the greatest compny that ever was, in the entire Universe. Our leaders are the best too, ever! Everything is wonderful and could not possibly be better, especially for our wonderful friends I. India and Rumania who will have lots more jobs coming their way - we call that sharif the wealth and helping those less fortunate in the world. And we do it because that is then right thing to do according to our undisputed leader whom we blindly follow.

by | Post ID: @R24HDhz-ohk

This is so an oracle HR posting, funny how obvious that is!

And by the way Analysts are NOT bullish on oracle, several have lowered their targets.

Plus, there are still several hundred million dollars left in the FY18 restructuring reserve to be used for layoffs over the next 6 months.

And if you think back to the last earnings call, I believe oracle lowered guidance for the full year whereas revenues are concerned.

So, tell me again what you feel so good about, other than your ignorance?!

by | Post ID: @R24HDhz-anh

Don’t feel so good yet! Massive changes are coming Jan/Feb.
