@kqr you are absolutely right. I don't know why we didn't notice it sooner.

Last poster is right. H1b rule doesn't change anything because ISD jobs are being offshored regardless.
What Walmart does with H1B workers won't matter one bit. It's true there's rampant misuse of the H1B program all across the US. There's been several house and senate hearings on it and Mr. Trump made it part of his campaign. This is just one of hundreds of media stories:

Walmart has abused it, too. But, It won't matter in 12 months.
They are moving more IT jobs to Walmart India (GTS) and no one should be surprised at that. If you watch this site, that point has been brought up numerous times. I'm not going to re-state the obvious. I'm sure many of you can provide examples of Walmart US jobs that are now being done in India.
Not offshoring, Indian IT industry experiencing layoffs in 2017.

It won’t impact. The issue is that they’ll just offshore the jobs.
@iip highly skilled workers that worship elephant gods? Come on.

Wrong. H1B visa may be intended for high skilled jobs but it’s in fact being widely abused to import cheap labor to fill jobs requiring low to moderate technical skills that are widely available here in the US.
There is widespread abuse of the program. Google it.
@FK Chutiya - H1B is a highly skilled worker VISA and not for coal miner jobs. Don't be a dmb S
If Walmart doesn't send the IT jobs to India, you might have a better change of getting a job in IT at the home office. But, I don't know what percent of IT workers are H1B or how the current H1B workers would be affected. It would be my guess that Walmart doesn't pay anyway near the new minimum of $90K for most H1B employees (can't really call them associates) or H1B contractors.
It’s good for American IT workers. I am excited.
Yes, H1B and new green card sponsoring is on decline.
Would hope so but isd is automating Jobs for a while now.
