Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Macy’s is on the wrong track!

Macy’s was enormously successful back in 2009, 2010, 2011. It wasn’t until 2012, when they started messing around with the structure that made them so great. This company has lost focus of its “my Macy’s strategy”, and is on the wrong track. They have eliminated districts, so that now the areas responsible for remaining districts have gotten way too large, they illuminated planner positions, so now there is nobody local to dissect and Dave into the business. They also keep cutting staff in the stores way too much. The stores cannot focus on customers, because they are way too lean, districts cannot focus on several stores, because their territories are way too large, and regions cannot focus on districts, because their territories of gotten way too large. All the company cares about are the extremely high-volume stores, and the little stores that used to show growth, are dying a quick death.

You had a brilliant business model with “my Macy’s“ back in 2009, and you have completely destroyed it the last four years. Any coincidence there that you see as to why you are not showing comp store sales growth year-over-year like you used to?

TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU!!!!

Why they screwed up the my macys philosophy, I don’t know, but you are right. They started tanking when they got rid of planners and made the districts too big.
