@5rxj - You've got that right. Offshore people are always willing to work for less money .... whether they work in the US or at home.

So they only have themselves and their own business managers to blame.

I was fortunate to have retired from IT. It's a dead-end job thanks to corporate greed and losers willing to keep making less money .... and not unioniize.

Supply and demand, bro. As long as there are people willing to work for less with an acceptable output, there will be a tendency to underpay. As long as you keep buying the expensive cars, gas, university education and the like, those prices will not fall. You fight this by not paying the big dollars. Fix up your used car, use less fuel, go to a good less expensive school, etc. etc. Problem is people want to have their cake and eat it too. They want to get more but not pay more. They want the bells and whistles for the same price or less. Sometimes that can be accomplished with tech and efficiency advances. The cars of today are so much better than 20 years ago and cost more but not as much more as you would think based on how much better they are. But back to people, as long as there are more warm bodies than seats available, there will be downward pressure on wages. That's why Americans have a problem with all these Indians coming into the picture and driving wages down. And now Indians are getting a dose of this as jobs go to even less expensive places. It stinks. So as an individual you look at your skills, make a plan, get new skills, and evolve accordingly. It's the Circle of Life, man.

wonder why this so called agile approach is not reducing cost of out other things- cars, food, colether, university education, health care, they seem to move up every quarter even as pay packets dip

You're not being underpaid. You're making what you deserve. Lower quality means lower pay/price. But don't blame yourself. It's simply the Darwin Theory at work. Consider it AGILE engineering in the new brave world. Happy New Year.
